| So I started a new job today. After 5 months of no income whatsoever, I FINALLY got hired at Ann Taylor Loft. So exciting.
So I went in. Watched two videos--one very confusing video about the legacy of Ann Taylor. I'm still not sure what the point was. Then another video about job safety. Lift boxes with your legs, not your back. Sanitize box cutters and all sharp objects. Don't leave your purse out in the open.
Then, a forty-five minute "Delight the Client Experience" program, in which I watched painfully awkward moments between associates and clients that were highlighted as the ideal way to engage customers. Awk.Ward. Gay man + pink shirt + strange accent + random information about clothing customer wasn't really interested in = painful.
Then, to conclude the day was 2.5 hours of fake register transactions to teach me how to do everything. Helpful? Yes. Redundant? Very.
So, after 4 hours of information being poured into my head....it hurt, essentially. I walked out of the mall and made a freakin beeline to Central Perk for a nonfat caramel frap with an extra shot, please! thank you. | | |
| He saved us,
not because of righteous things we had done,
but because of His mercy.
He saved us
through the washing of rebirth
and renewal by the Holy Spirit,
whom he poured out on us
generously
through Jesus Christ our Savior,
so that,
having been justified by His grace
we might become heirs
having the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:3-7

| This morning, I went down to the kitchen. Now, this may not seem like
such a strange occurence, considering most of you probably go to the
kitchen when you wake up. I never eat breakfast, though, so it was very
out of the ordinary. Something else must have taken over my life for
the time being, because we had a huge box of OREO O's on the cabinets,
amidst all of our fruit and bran and shredded wheat and granola
cereals. On a usual day I make fairly responsible choices, but today
was not one of those days. With my bowl of Oreo-flavored loops and
marshmallows, I turned the TV on, and lo and behold, Bill Nye the
Science Guy was on. Of course I watched it.
and now, my dad is playing my violin downstairs, which always makes me
slightly uncomfortable and I'm not sure why. Maybe because he doesn't
know any real songs?

| We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you, because we have heard of your faith in Christ Jesus and of the love you have for all the saints--the faith and love that spring from the hope that is stored up for you in heaven and that you have already heard about the word of truth, the gospel that has come to you. All over the world this gospel is bearing fruit and growing, just as it has been doing among you since the day you heard it and understood God's grace in all its truth. You learned it from Epaphras, our dear fellow servant, who is a faitful minister of Christ on our behalf, and who also told us of your love in the Spirit. For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding. And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in the kingdom of light. For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the Kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
Colossians 1:3-14
